Modeh ani l’fanecha, melech chai v’kayam, shehechezarta bi nishmati b’chemlah, rabah emunatecha. Reishit choch’mah yirat Adonai, seichel tov l’chol oseihem, t’hilato omedet la-ad. Baruch sheim k’vod malchuto l’olam va-ed.
I gratefully thank You, O living and eternal King, for You have returned my soul within me with compassion—abundant is Your faithfulness! The beginning of wisdom is the fear of HaShem—good understanding to all their practitioners; His praise endures forever. Blessed is the Name of His glorious kingdom for all eternity.
Torah tzivah lanu mosheh, morashah k’hilat ya-akov. Torah t’hei emunati, v’eil shadai b’ezrati. V’atem had’veikim b’Adonai eloheichem, chayim kul’chem hayom. Lishuat’cha kiviti Adonai.
The Torah that was commanded to us by Moshe is the heritage of the Congregation of Ya’akov. Hear my child the discipline of your father and do not forsake the teaching of your mother. The Torah should be my faith, and El Shaddai [should] assist me. And you who cling to HaShem, your God, you are alive, all of you today. For Your salvation do I yearn.
Donning The Tzitzit /LeVishat Tzitzit
Baruch atah Adonai eloheinu melech ha-olam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav, v’tzivanu al mitzvat tzitzit.
Blessed are You, HaShem, our God, King of the Universe, Who has sanctified us with His commandments, and commanded us regarding the commandment of tzitzit.
Y’hi ratzon mil’fanecha, Adonai elohai veilohei avotai, shet’hei chashuvah mitzvat tzitzit l’fanecha, k’ilu kiyamtiha b’chol p’rateha v’dikdukeha v’chav’noteha, v’tarya”g mitzvat hat’luyim bah, amein selah.
May it be Your will, HaShem, my God, and the God of my forefathers, that the commandment of tzitzit be as worthy before You as if I had fulfilled it in all its aspects, its details, and its intentions as well as the 613 commandments that are dependent upon it. Amen, Selah.
