The Cure

There is a cure!  For all diseases, famine, wars, “global warming”, violence, theft, murder, poverty, etc.  It’s been in front of us all of the time.  We are so blind and consumed with ourselves we haven’t seen it.  HaShem has given us the CURE!  In His wonderful Torah, the book of D’varim (Deuteronomy) chapters 28-30, HaShem tells the Israelites, the blessings and curses that will befall them when the obey and disobey the Torah (instructions/teachings/laws) of HaShem.  You may say, “That doesn’t apply to us today, we live in a modern world.”  “G-d understands”, “I’m okay, you’re okay!”   Guess what?  Excuses are like noses, we all have them.  We need to stop making excuses for why we don’t follow the Word of HaShem.  He tells us in this same passage,

11Surely, this Instruction( Torah)  which I enjoin upon you this day is not too baffling for you, nor is it beyond reach. 12It is not in the heavens, that you should say, “Who among us can go up to the heavens and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?” 13Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, “Who among us can cross to the other side of the sea and get it for us and impart it to us, that we may observe it?” 14No, the thing is very close to you, in your mouth and in your heart, to observe it.

I’ve seen bumper stickers that read, “G-d said it! I believe it! That settles it!”  Pretty bold statements, especially when they just cut you off.  My point is, we are all flawed, selfish, sinful people.  We as individuals, communities, states, nations, and the world as a whole, need to get on our knees and beg HaShem for forgiveness and mercy.  We need to look for teaching and guidance in His word, not just on Saturdays and Sundays.  We need to seek Him with all of our heart.  If we were to do that He will heal us from all the curses we have brought upon ourselves. If we do not, then we can expect this world to continue down it’s path of destruction.  I don’t like to get all preachy, but this has been on my mind for sometime.  G-d cannot be a liar!  His Torah is for everyone, all nations.

15See, I set before you this day life and prosperity, death and adversity. 16Ford I command you this day, to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His laws, and His rules, that you may thrive and increase, and that the Lord your God may bless you in the land that you are about to enter and possess. 17But if your heart turns away and you give no heed, and are lured into the worship and service of other gods, 18I declare to you this day that you shall certainly perish; you shall not long endure on the soil that you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess. 19I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day: I have put before you life and death, blessing and curse. Choose life—if you and your offspring would live—20by loving the Lord your God, heeding His commands, and holding fast to Him. For thereby you shall have life and shall long endure upon the soil that the Lord swore to your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give to them.[2]

The Question is,  will we do what it takes for the cure?
