Derekh HaShem-_The Way of G-d

We have finished our study about the Mysteries of Creation by Rabbi Brown.  Though there are only 22 teachings posted here, there are 17 more to come, one posted each week, usually on Sunday.  Also, we will be beginning our new study on the sefer Derekh HaShem, the Way of G-d by the RAMCHAL.  It is a fascinating and motivational study, teaching us the Ways of HaShem. Deuteronomy 30:16 teaches us to walk in the ways of HaShem, and the RAMCHAL through his writings will help us understand what some of these ways are.  We will post the teachings as well over the website.

Walk like an Egyptian

During the redemption from Egypt, HaShem had the Israelites take the Egyptian god, a lamb, and sacrifice it. They took it and examined it for four days and then slaughtered it.  Could it be that HaShem is doing the same to the god of this world, money?  The more the world prints, the more worthless it becomes and the more the world loses.  Our government has tried everything to stabilize the markets but to no avail.  We keep losing more and more.  Does anyone look to HaShem?  Does anyone recognize what He is doing?  HaShem is making ready for the final redemption, just like the one from Egypt.  We must recognize there is only HaShem and put our full faith and trust in Him.

A Financial Earthquake?

Once again HaShem is trying to gain our attention.  The ground shakes and we ignore Him. Hurricanes rip at our country and we ignore Him.  Fires rage and we ignore Him. Violence escalates and we ignore Him. Will the shaking of the world’s financial markets awaken those who are asleep?  Or will we continue to ignore HaShem speaking loud and clear to us.  He calls to us, “Trust in Me, not gold and silver, they are nothing.” Everyone is watching the markets tumble as the Bailout Bill was supposed to fix it. HaShem saves, not governments.  There is only HaShem and we should only trust in Him, not any man or thing.  Is it any wonder this is happening during the yamim noraim, the days of awe?  Do not fear the falling markets, fear HaShem.

The Four Steps to Teshuvah

Teshuvah (Return, or Repentance) is a generous gift from HaShem, which allows us to erase our improper actions through a four-step process (see below).
The Torah tells us that no matter how far we stray or how many times we sin, HaShem will wait for us to return to him through Teshuvah. There are four basic parts to Teshuvah:
