Gustav

Secretary of State Rice is in Israel trying desperately to continue the “RoadMap to Peace” by making sure Jerusalem is divided.  At the same time hurricane Gustav is gaining strength and heading right for the the U.S. Coincedence, I think not.  She also, stated that Russia had no right to infringe upon the borders of Georgia.  Wait a minute, and she has the right to infringe upon the borders of Israel? Wow, the arrogance!  Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and Israel, and pray for the failure of the RoadMap which will only endanger Israel and embolden her enemies, and ours.

Beginning the 40 days of Teshuvah

In just a week we enter into the month of Elul. The month of Elul begins the 40 days of Teshuvah or Repentance. We begin thoroughly examining ourselves for sins that we have committed. It is difficult to be honest with oneself. We would all like to think that we are “good” and that we don’t cause any harm. The problem that plagues us all is arrogance and lack of humility before HaShem. If we are truly honest with ourselves we will probably find actions, behaviors, and thoughts that we don’t like. Sure it’s easier to put your head in the sand and continue with the same. The reason we don’t want to do this is we do not fear HaShem. We are arrogant. Now, I’m not saying that we should all fall into a depressive state of unworthiness, but a humble state before the Creator. To begin to repair the damage we have caused by our sin. To stop blaming others and take responsibility for choices we have made. HaShem sees everything we do, but that doesn’t seem to bother us one bit. However it really should. The choices we make will affect us in the Olam Hazeh and the Olam Haba.

Repent and Fear HaShem

You know, no matter what you have done, no matter what you have thought, a person who sincerely does teshuvah (repentance) will be forgiven by HaShem. HaShem is merciful and loving and wants those who have walked away from Him to return, those who are with Him to stay, and those who have never been near Him to come close.

Whoa!

All are aware of the current war between Russia and Georgia. Some are saying this is the beginning of the war of Gog and MaGog, though of course this can not be fully proven. All WE CAN DO, is teshuvah (repentance) and have faith in HaShem. This is however, more of a serious issue than some seem to think. It is a challenge by Russia not only to Georgia, but to the West and even Israel who have been at odds with Russia’s ally, Iran. This could get interesting fast. Be in prayer.
